As a beaver fan and observer of the pac 10, i am disappointed in Athons irresponsible assessment of Oregon States football program.
I was shocked to see Athons prediction that Oregon State would not win one football game. To suggest that Oregon State is going to have the worst season in 12 years is one thing, but to
not have them winning one game is absolutely ridiculous. Oregon States offensive line is ranked #1 in the pack 10. they return their quarterback, a very talented receiving core, a solid defense anchored by a talented sr defensive backfield and two sr pass rushers who were tops last year at rushing the passer. Sammie stroughter is going to be electric this season.I attended OSU’s spring practice and saw alot of offensive speed on the field. If i was Riley i would post that ranking by Athons on the bullitin board and use it as inspiration this season. If i was a Beaver player i would take that article personally, simply because there’s absolutely no reason for athon’s to make this dismal prediction of a program that has finished 3rd in the pac 10 the last two years. I think this is a example of biased and ignorance by the Athons writers.

I couldn’t agree more! I feel we’re gonna be the surprise team of the pac-10 this year. With the whole quarterback situation still not set in stone, losing Evy, and people wondering how well sami’s going to bounce back, (I was at the spring game and he looked 110%, but not everyone has had the opportunity to see him perform since ASU last year.) they feel we are an up in the air team. Those of us in BEAVER NATION know other wise!
